VISN 5 MIRECC

The primary focus of the VISN 5 MIRECC is to improve the care of Veterans with schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses. While our primary focus is on schizophrenia, our work has considerable applicability for Veterans with other serious mental illnesses as well.

The Center is based at the Baltimore Division of the Veterans Affairs Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS), and involves substantial integration with the scientific expertise on schizophrenia and mental health services at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

The VISN 5 MIRECC Administrative Core oversees the Research Core, the Educational Core, and the Clinical Core.
