Biography: Glenn has had a long and varied career with the VA beginning in the spring of 1974. Initially he functioned as a cardiopulmonary technician working in research and later became the chief technologist in the clinical pulmonary function laboratory. He later left the VA for a couple of years to pursue a new career working in the computer environment. After some formal training and work in the private sector he returned to the VA in the early stages of the development of the VA’s computer system, was instrumental in wiring the hospital and also installed and supported many of the software packages within the Vista system. Later he took a position with the education department and became the primary trainer for the hospital teaching new employees the use of the Vista system and also providing instruction in Microsoft office applications. Following two years in the trainers position an opportunity came along to become part of the VISN data group known as the Knowledge Management office and later that office became the Office of Information and Analysis. The primary role of those groups was to provide a wide variety of reports to administrative personnel throughout the VISN.

Glenn formally retired from the VA at the end of December 2007 and shortly thereafter began working with the VISN 2 Center for integrated Health care providing the raw data used in CIH’s many research projects.
