Study Description and Background

Traumatic brain injury is an important medical problem for Veterans. Individuals with traumatic brain injuries are at increased risk for various psychiatric problems, including those associated with suicide. This study seeks to better understand the relationship between these factors.

Understanding the consequences of traumatic brain injuries within the Veteran population is critical to providing quality physical and mental health care.

Selected participants will:

  1. Participate in a clinical interview.
  2. Complete paper and pencil measures.
  3. Have their brain scanned using MRI to provide detailed pictures of their brains.

Veterans between 18-45 who meet study criteria may participate. The study can be completed in one day or broken up over several days depending on preference. Participants will be compensated for their time.
