Research InterestsMy training is in health services research and policy (PhD) with specialized experience in pharmacoepidemiology and post-market surveillance of medications for suicide and suicide attempts. My interests lie in the use of statistics in secondary data (e.g., medical records, claims) to monitor and study suicide and suicide attempts associated with new exposures to VHA-prescribed medications. My current work examines the comparative safety of VHA-prescribed medications and suicide or suicide attempt. Analyses include within- and between-subject designs, time-varying exposures and covariates and the development of new statistical approaches in partnership with external investigators. To support pharmacy staff in providing suicide prevention services to patients in the community, we are conducting a pilot randomized controlled trial of learning outcomes associated with our newly developed suicide prevention gatekeeper training in chain stores in North Carolina. |
