- Bio: Dr. Mavandadi is a Research Health Science Specialist and Investigator in the PVAMC MIRECC. She also holds a joint appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor in the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Mavandadi received her Ph.D. in Health Psychology, with a specialization in Gerontology, from the Department of Psychology and Social Behavior at the University of California, Irvine. Following her doctoral work, she completed an NIMH-funded Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mental Health and Biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. During this time, she also served as the Managing Director of the Biostatistics and Data Management Unit for the University of Pennsylvania Section of Geriatric Psychiatry’s Advanced Center for Innovation in Services Research.
- Research Interests: Dr. Mavandadi’s research focuses on the dynamic, and often reciprocal, association between functional and structural facets of social relationships and mental and physical well-being.
