Steven Shirk, Ph.D.

Dr. Steven Shirk received his Doctorate of Social Psychology from the University of Georgia in 2009 where he studied self-control and its failure. He completed a research fellowship in the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Hospital GRECC in 2014 where he studied memory and cognition among older adults. His research interests focus on cognition, in particular executive functioning and memory, and the use of both physiological and neuropsychological methods of measuring it. He is now investigating the use of cognitive and physiological measures to further elucidate addiction and co-occurring disorder among Veterans.
