MIRECC Presents | A free online continuing education series by NW MIRECC

NW MIRECC Presents: a webinar/online learning series for mental health providers promoting effective treatments for Veteran mental health issues including Postraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), addiction, and suicide

NW MIRECC Presents

MIRECC Presents is a Continuing Education series on mental health topics provided by the VISN 20 Northwest Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center in collaboration with the VA Employee Education System (EES). This is a webinar series held on the first and third Wednesday of each month from October to June, between Noon and 1:00pm (PT).

The Northwest Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center applies modern genetic, neurologic and clinical trial methodology to the discovery and development of new and more effective treatments for major and often treatment resistant mental disorders afflicting Veterans and the active duty combat personnel who will become Veterans. The MIRECC Presents, a bi-monthly web-based trainings, is designed to translate current scientific and clinical research into thoughtful and accessible information that can be used by clinicians to enhance their care of Veterans. In this way, MIRECC Presents empowers mental health providers to integrate cutting-edge treatments and timely research into their daily clinical practices, thereby raising the quality of care for Veterans who experience mental health challenges. (See MIRECC Presents Schedule for information regarding topics, dates and presenters.)

Learning Objectives of the MIRECC Presents Series

1. To enhance knowledge and skills in assessment, differential diagnosis and the treatment of psychiatric disorders.
2. To improve the connection between contemporary research and the clinical care of psychiatric disorders.
3. To facilitate biopsychosocial multidisciplinary team management of complex psychiatric disorders.
