Research Study 1: A Conjoint Analysis Survey to Elicit Preferences for Outcomes of Psychiatric Medication Treatment in Veterans with Serious Mental Illness
Veterans between the ages of 18-75 who have been diagnosed with Schizophrenia or Bipolar Disorder and who have been prescribed a psychiatric medication are invited to participate in a research study to help us better understand Veteran preferences when choosing medications. You will be paid for your participation. Research will be conducted at the Baltimore and Perry Point VA.

Research Study 2: Post-Deployment Help for Couples
We are looking for OEF/OIF Veterans and with post-deployment challenges and their partners for a research study of group education for couples. Participants will be compensated up to $270 per couple for their time if they complete the entire study. Participation lasts about 12 months. Results will be used to evaluate whether these groups are helpful for Veterans who have trauma-related stress and helpful for their spouse/partner.
This study involves:
- Learning coping, communication, and healthy living skills
- Group meetings with 3-5 other couples, twice-monthly for 14 sessions
- Completing study assessments at 3 time-points
