Little Rock

Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) is located in beautiful central Arkansas, one of the country’s best-kept secrets for a high quality (and generally low cost) of living. Arkansas is known for its southern hospitality and charm as well as its expansive outdoors. The Little Rock metropolitan area is vibrant and growing, with a diverse population of over 725,000 and all of the amenities one would expect in much larger cities. Outside of Little Rock, the population served is predominantly rural providing for unique training experiences in culturally informed healthcare.

We are a large and comprehensive healthcare system providing a full range of services across the spectrums of physical and mental health care. Our mental health service alone employs more than 400 personnel and fellows will have training opportunities that intersect with many aspects of this complex system. Our services are recovery-oriented, Veteran-centered, and delivered through a whole-health framework. Our fellowship is known not just for the plethora of training opportunities we provide within and beyond PSR, but also for the overwhelmingly supportive environment in which these occur, and for our focus on individualized training plans, professional development, and mentoring. Our fellows are successful in attaining competitive VA appointments and leave our program having formed professional relationships that endure long after the training year is concluded.
