Improving the health of Veterans through effective PDMH Research at Mid-Atlantic MIRECCThe Mid-Atlantic (VISN 6) Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center (MIRECC) improves the quality of life, health and wellness of Veterans with post-deployment mental health (PDMH) related issues and its complex comorbidities by promoting our research findings and putting educational programs into practice. Opportunities to support veterans and their families occur in varied settings. We have partnered with local, state and national agencies and systems of care to engage veterans and their families in an effort to provide assistance with post-deployment readjustment and access to health care. By creating a "No Wrong Door" public health approach, educational materials are disseminated and access to informed clinical care is enhanced.
Clinical Core Mission: To facilitate the translation, implementation, and dissemination of post-deployment mental health research through consultation, clinical trainings, and program evaluation.
